Be bold! Unleash your adventurous side, step away from your regular routine or normal workout, set a new goal, and challenge yourself with a fierce run (or two) through Fear the Pier. It’s a one-of-a-kind, heart-pounding, timed obstacle course alongside the Hudson, under the backdrop of Manhattan’s iconic skyline, on Pier 26 in Hudson River Park.
A signature event of the 2nd Annual Hudson River Park Games, Fear the Pier is a new challenge on the NYC fitness landscape and a new goal to add to your workout plan. Set the date, and get ready to take a bold step toward summer and give your workout an ultimate boost. Fear the Pier will run the length of Pier 26 and feature seven grueling stations where you’ll crawl, scramble, scale, and propel yourself to new heights as you make your way through tires, over barricades, under ropes, over a bus, and to the top of a wall. Unlike other challenge events of its kind, Fear the Pier is taking place right in the city — it’s a bonus to your workout plan, and a pre-summer test of your fitness level and skill, designed with elite athletes, urban adventurers, and competitors in mind.
If you think you run fast and compete, then this is the challenge for you! Finish Fear the Pier in record time, and the top competitors with the best course times will be crowned 2016 Masters of the Pier and have the chance to win two (2) business class economy round-trip tickets (Continental USA) on Delta.
Presented by Friends of Hudson River Park, The Games are a unique fundraising opportunity for participants, fans, and visitors to support and drive awareness for the indispensable community resource and premier waterfront treasure that is Hudson River Park: New York’s Park for Play. By registering and pledging to support its participants, you’re making a direct donation to sustain future recreational programming in your Park.
So go ahead — be bold, kick-start your summer, and celebrate your fitness by challenging yourself to FEAR THE PIER. Can you conquer it?
