There are so many aspects of my job that I love, but teaching group fitness classes is a definite highlight. The energy that is created in a group environment is undeniable, and the community the classroom builds is extremely strong and supportive. The feeling of having conquered the workout together brings you closer to everyone in the room, and the endorphin high will keep you focused and glowing all day — not to mention, the added intensity will keep you burning extra fat and calories for hours beyond your workout. For me, this is a very personal and empowering experience.
Last year, we launched our first AKT InTensive Retreat in Costa Rica. Pushing through 2 workout classes a day (90min to 2hrs each) with an intimate group of attendees, reinforced the power of our group programming to transform lives not only physically, but connect people on an emotional and very personal level. Everyone who attended lost between 3-6 lbs (in 5 days!) and multiple inches! We hung out together, made new friends while bonding with longtime friends, pushed ourselves beyond our physical plateaus, swam, explored, ate delicious food, celebrated each evening, and of course, sweat more than we thought possible.
In launching the AKT NoMad InTensive (February 8-12), I wanted to bring that same experience to our NYC home: an all-inclusive program where you can make a 5-day commitment to reconnect to your health and fitness without leaving the city. In partnering with Sakara Life, I knew we could offer a nutrition option that is delicious, easy, and accessible for our busy city participants.
My new location in downtown Manhattan will allow me to meet and share my passion with a new group of New Yorkers. Partnering with Aly Teich and The Sweat Life will bring a new level of fit participants together to inspire and motivate one another like never before.
I want to share a few quick mythbusters about my workout before you sign up.
AKT is an interval training program. However, I bring a unique creativity to interval training. It is unlike anything you have tried before.
You may have heard or read that AKT is “dance cardio.” There is an element of truth to that as we do offer a dance-based interval training class called Happy Hour. However, coordination is not required! There are over 8 types of other classes ranging from toning to circuit training to foam rolling to give you everything you need in a comprehensive workout that will keep you challenged and cross-training for optimal results and, most of all, FUN!
To break it down, we offer two different types of circuit training classes at AKT. The first is called 4Play (aka 4 circuits meets adult playground) and it is not your average bootcamp workout. We move quickly through 4 circuits that work every part of your body, and kick your heart rate into overdrive, all done in sync with a killer playlist. Sweat Dream is my second circuit training class that incorporates kick boxing, barre, conditioning, and dynamic stretching, all based around a Pilates box. These classes will have you guessing what you’ve been doing all this time to workout!
Last, but certainly not least, is the AKTone, which is a strength only class that will give you the ultimate burn! Don’t be fooled. While you may not be bumping up the plyometrics, your heart rate will be pumping, and the sweat will be dripping.
All of these classes will be featured in our AKT NoMad InTensive. The only thing required of these workouts is a positive attitude, a love of sick music, and the excitement to see real physical & mental changes.
I can’t wait to meet you. Xo
The AKT NoMad InTensive, a 5-day intensive, will run February 8-12. The program includes 2 classes a day (one taught by Anna Kaiser herself), and 3 fresh and clean meals a day from Sakara Life. A celebrated fitness authority and elite personal trainer with a background in professional dance and sports medicine, Anna Kaiser began her career teaching ballet, body conditioning, and dance cardio at the Reebok Sports Club/NY and The Sports Club/LA. Her natural enthusiasm, terrific sense of humor, and reputation for results quickly made her the preferred trainer of such celebrities as Kelly Ripa, Shakira, and Sarah Jessica Parker.
Anna’s success at the nation’s premier gyms soon caught the attention of fitness personality Tracy Anderson. In her next role as the Chief Content Officer for Tracy Anderson, Anna led the brand to success in only two short years. This invaluable experience led Anna to realize that as enjoyable as dance-based workout techniques are, only a kinetic approach to physical wellness can take your body safely and successfully to the next level of fitness, and sparked Anna’s motto, “Movement with purpose.”
Anna has a BFA in dance from the University of California in 2002 (Cum Laude), and studied kinesiology, sports medicine, and functional anatomy at Mount Sinai Medical Center. She then went on to acquire teaching certificates in Pre/Post Natal, Pilates, TRX (Total Body Resistance Exercise), and NASM (The National Academy of Sports Medicine), while simultaneously appearing in music videos for pop stars such as Shakira, touring internationally with the cast of Fame!, serving as a principal dancer in Disney’s feature film Enchanted, performing in Broadway’s 50th Anniversary of West Side Story, and joining the stage at Carnegie Hall for Showboat. Anna has also starred in a number of workout videos.
