Barry’s Bootcamp in NYC is synonymous with Patrick Frost’s upbeat, super-motivating, kick-your-butt classes. (7:10 and 12:30 in Noho and Chelsea, what!) Patrick is the best kind of trainer, always ready with the after-class high five, the one that you want to hang out with as much as celebrate your training successes. And now he is also a sponsored Nike athlete. We’ve heard from Patrick about what led him to be a trainer, but what is a Day in the Sweat Life like for him? Read on.

1. What is the first thing you do when you wake up?

I take a hot shower and do my vocal warm-ups. I legit sound like a crazy person with all the "lip trills" and the chanting "money" and "mommy," but it's what I have to do now since my [vocal chord] surgery. It was super fun when I first started dating my now relationship. I had to warn them ahead of time. 

 2. What is your go-to workout?

When I'm feeling off or uninspired I take a Barry's class. Favorite day is Thursday, HARDCORE DAY! 

3. What does a typical day of meals and snacks look like for you?

I started doing "Intermittent fasting" or "IF" about 6 weeks ago, so I fast for 14hrs and then eat for 9. During my 9 hrs, I load up a lot on good fats like avocado and coconut oil so I don't lose weight. My body has really started to change, and the best thing is a crazy cheat meal here and there is fine as long as I stay within my eating frame. 

4. What is your favorite indulgence?

O R E O S... Hands down. 

5. What is your healthy living philosophy?

Everything in moderation, even moderation. 

6. Do you meditate?

I got really into it during my recovery [from vocal chord surgery]. A friend told me about this app called Headspace, and raved about it. I did it religiously for awhile, but I need to get back on it. It was honestly really great. 

7. What can we find in your gym bag?

Everything. Books, protein bars, socks, deodorant, gloves, wrist straps, floss… If you need something, I most likely have it on hand. 

8. What is your favorite active wear brand?

Barry's or NIKE of course!! And what's even great now is Barry’s does some branded Nike gear... Best of both worlds! 

9. What is the last thing you do before you go to bed?

Make a shake with some casein protein... Although I've been having the craziest dreams since doing this, so we'll see if I keep it up!

10. What or who inspires you?

My peers inspire me. I love working alongside of some of the best in the industry. We support each other like family and push each other to succeed, and I really dig that.
